You'll find beautifully handmade batiks for all occasions, from formal to casual ready-made batik clothing for men, women and children, including shirts, ties, hats, scarves, shawls, and blouses.

And of course the traditional 2.5 meter long batik kain panjang is our true specialty. Take your time to view our many examples in silk and cotton hanging on display. Then choose a folded batik from one of the cupboards. Open it up to reveal its intricately detailed secrets.

While our mission is to preserve the traditional batik patterns and colors, that's not all we do. You can choose from a whole array of colors and even place a special order to create the exact size and color combination you want.

Decorating your home or office is easy with our wide range of pillow covers, tablecloths, napkins, bedspreads, curtain material, and art for the walls. Also available for special orders.

Prices reflect our completely hand waxed and dyed process. Batik tulis, waxed with only the canting tool, is the high end of batik since it takes many, many hours to create. Batik cap, made with the copper stamp, is the least expensive because the process is much faster. And in between is Batik kombinasi, a mix of cap and canting work.

Batik making in Indonesia is a team effort. Each member plays a vital role to the success of the whole process.

You'll see the designers carefully drawing all the motifs on the white cloth to begin. Watch the women bring the motifs to life with their expert canting waxing skills and the men who place the caps in just the correct position. Depending on the day of your visit, you may also get to see the dyers at work, creating the rich deep tones, or watch the men standing over huge boiling vats of water removing all the wax. Finally, you'll see the seamstresses sewing up the cloth into a variety of goods.

Be sure to browse through our collection of over 3,000 batik caps on display. You'll see clearly the intricate designs and appreciate these as works of art in and of themselves.
